Last updated 2 November 2026

We collect as little as we can. Here's exactly what happens to your information, who helps us handle it, and how to have it deleted.

The free Voice Check

The email you paste is read in your browser. It isn't sent to us while you use the Voice Check. It's saved in your browser so it can go into your guide, and it only reaches our servers if you buy a guide (see "Your answers").

Your answers

Your answers to the six questions are saved in your own browser so you can come back later. When you go to pay, we save a copy of your answers on our servers, including the email you pasted, so we can email you your guide and let you open it again on any device. We keep that copy until you ask us to delete it.

The live test reply

To write the before and after replies, your answers (not the email you pasted) and a sample enquiry are sent to Claude, made by Anthropic, through their API. We don't keep the replies. Anthropic handles that data under its own commercial terms and privacy policy.

Payment

Stripe handles your payment and acts as the seller of record. We never see your card details. Stripe shares your name, email address and what you bought with us so we can deliver your guide and help if something goes wrong.

Email

We use your email address to send your guide and to answer your questions. After you buy, we also send up to three short emails: a tip for using your guide, an offer for the Job Pack if you don't have it, and news of the skill pack when it's ready. Every one has a link to stop them. We won't add you to any other mailing list unless you ask to join one.

The 25% off offer

If you ask for a discount code, we keep your first name, email address, the date and which currency you saw, so we can send the code and stop the offer being claimed twice. We then send four short emails over the next two weeks about the voice guide, and stop as soon as you buy or unsubscribe. Your code is a single-use Stripe promotion code, valid for 14 days on your first purchase. We keep these details until you ask us to delete them.

Who helps us

Some of these companies store data outside Australia, including in the United States. We only share what each one needs to do its job.

Cookies and ads

The site saves your answers, chosen currency and any discount code in your own browser, which you can clear at any time.

We use the Meta Pixel, which sets cookies, so we can see which of our Facebook and Instagram ads bring people here and lead to a sign-up or a purchase. When you sign up for the 25% code or buy a guide, our server also tells Meta about it, with your email address and name scrambled (hashed) first, so Meta can match it to an ad without us sending them in plain text. We also note which ad link you arrived from.

If you're in the UK, the EU, the EEA or Switzerland, none of this happens unless you say yes in the banner. You can change your answer by clearing this site's data in your browser. Anywhere else, you can turn off ad tracking in your Facebook ad settings or with your browser's privacy settings.

If Desk Badger is sold

If the business is ever sold, your details may pass to the new owner, who must keep following this policy.

Your choices and rights

You can clear your saved answers by clearing your browser's site data for deskbadger.com. To see, correct or delete anything we hold about you, or to object to how we use it, email hello@deskbadger.com. We'll reply within 30 days. Wherever you live, including the UK and EU, you can also complain to your local privacy regulator. In Australia that's the OAIC.
